Millie The Border Collie Mix

We adopted Millie, a Border Collie mix, from the Fauquier SPCA in May 2024 when she was about 10 weeks old. During the first three months, we got to know her as her high-energy personality began to shine. I vividly remember trying to bring her back inside after bathroom breaks, only to end up running all over the yard trying to catch her. She also had a habit of stealing shoes and other household items to use as chew toys. Along with Millie, we have two cats, and they spent those first few months hiding upstairs, only coming out when Millie was in the kennel.

True to her breed, Millie is incredibly smart, energetic, loves people, and is curious about everything. Since it had been over 20 years since my husband or I had a puppy, we quickly realized that without proper training, things could become unmanageable. We decided that enrolling Millie in obedience training sooner rather than later was essential. Having previously used some of the "big box" training services for our first dog, we knew we needed more specialized and comprehensive training. Our goal was to help Millie grow into a well-behaved dog who could confidently join us anywhere—whether with family and friends or out in public spaces like downtown or at work.

Fortunately, during one of Millie's check-ups, our veterinarian highly recommended G&S Dog Training. We scheduled a consultation and immediately knew we had found the trainers that could help us meet our goals.

A few months later, we cannot say enough good things about George and Sarai. They treated Millie as if she were their own dog and shared an incredible amount of knowledge with us. They asked questions we hadn’t even considered and were patient as we learned alongside Millie. Their training is highly personalized to your lifestyle and what you'd like for your dog. Now, we feel confident taking Millie out with us or working with her at home. We’re also thrilled that Millie and our two cats are able to be in the same room together.
